## What's New in XMod Pro 5.0 Beta 7 ### New Features **Full-screen editing in the inline editor.** The editor you open directly from a page now has a full-screen toggle, so you can work on a view or form without the surrounding page competing for space. Toggle back at any time and the page returns to normal. **Right-click context menus in the Explorer.** Right-click any form, view, feed, or project to get its full set of actions — open, pin, rename, duplicate, and the rest — the same menu you get from the item's actions button, without having to reach for it. **Duplicate attribute detection.** The view, feed, and custom form editors now flag an attribute written twice on the same tag, with a marker in the gutter and a tooltip explaining the problem. Like the rest of the editor's guidance it is advisory only and never blocks saving. **Semantic checking in the custom form editor.** The checks that flag unknown tags, misspelled attributes, and common mistakes now run in the custom form editor as well, not only in the visual Form Builder. ### Fixes & Improvements - Dialogs throughout the Control Panel now open correctly positioned and styled. Previously, the first dialog you opened after loading the Control Panel could appear unstyled and out of position, correcting itself once you opened a form or view. - Dialogs opened from the Explorer are no longer trapped inside the Explorer panel. Depending on your site's theme, these could previously be clipped — most visibly on the Duplicate dialog, where the Cancel button could fall outside the visible area. - The inline editor's unsaved-changes prompt now displays correctly. - `<register>` tags keep their exact placement and text when a custom form is edited and saved. - New blank custom forms are now scaffolded with XMod Pro's comment syntax `[-- ... --]` rather than HTML comments. XMod Pro converts these to server-side comments when the form is saved, so unlike an HTML comment they never reach the rendered page. - Browser confirmation popups have been replaced throughout with XMod Pro's own styled dialogs. - Error detail is no longer shown to users who are not SuperUsers, form field values are no longer written to the log in plain text when a SQL error occurs, and theme operations now validate their requests. - The Preview button has been removed from the Form Builder toolbar and the empty General tab has been removed from the Form Settings dialog. Previews are deferred to a later release rather than shipping half-finished. ### Installation Notes - The beta is available to current and past customers of XMod Pro from the Downloads Page. - Upgrading from a previous beta? Choose the **Repair Install** option during installation. - Back up your database and web files before installing, and we recommend evaluating on a staging site before installing in production. - This beta expires Oct. 30th. You will need to install a newer beta or the release version before that time. Your forms, views, feeds, and data remain intact, and your published pages keep working.
