This website, www.dnndev.com ("DNNDev"), is owned and operated by KnowBetter Creative Services LLC dba DNNDev ("DNNDev.com", "DNNDev", "KnowBetter", or "we"), an Arizona company. This Privacy Policy describes how DNNDev collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of DNNDev.com, our products, our services, and our applications (collectively, the "Services") and through email, text, and other electronic communications between you and DNNDev.com. This Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") does not apply to information our customers or website visitors may process themselves when using our Services.

This Privacy Policy takes effect on May 25, 2018. These changes have been made in order to be compliant with the GDPR. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect different types of information about you, including information that may directly identify you, information that is about you but individually does not personally identify you, and information that we combine with our other users. This includes information that we collect directly from you or through automated collection technologies.

Information Provided By You

The information we collect on or through our website is:

  • Registration. When you create an account on DNNDev, we collect only the necessary information to satisfy a typical user account, such as your email address, desired username, password, and display name (i.e. nickname). Your password is encrypted and never stored anywhere in plain text. We also store your IP address in our database for the purpose of tracking down malicious accounts. You are able, at your own discretion, to update your account and profile information to add additional data about yourself, such as your address, telephone, avatar, and other similar profile properties.
  • Forms. The information that you provide by filling in forms on our website. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our website, posting material, or requesting further services (such as technical support). We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our website.
  • Payment Information. When you purchase a product or service through DNNDev, we utilize PayPal. We do not store or process your sensitive card data on our server. Basic information about your payment method is stored in PayPal and for your own records on your account or purchase history page.
  • Communications. If you contact us, we may receive additional information about you, such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other information that's directly related to the message you sent. This includes records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.
  • Usage. We provide features on the site, such as bookmarks in our tutorials, that we store records of in our database.your search queries on the Website.

The Personal Data we collect from you is required to enter into a contract with DNNDev, for DNNDev to perform under the contract, to provide you with our products and services, and to provide you with license keys to our products. If you refuse to provide such Personal Data or withdraw your consent to our processing of Personal Data, then in some cases we may not be able to enter into the contract or fulfill our obligations to you under it.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the website or transmitted to other users of the website or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). If you consent, your User Contributions may include answers, discussions, ideas, or technical support requests that you make publicly available to our user community. Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Information Related To Our Services

  • Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking. Certain information is automatically stored in log files. We use Google Analytics, GoSquared, and MixPanel for tracking, and information such as your device, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, dates, times, and clicks, IP address, and other typical data is utilized and sent to these services automatically. Some information is stored in a cookie, which may be set on your computer or device when you visit DNNDev. This allows us to recognize you and better provide services and learn your preferences.

What Do We Do With The Information We Collect?

In addition to the above:

  1. We work with a hosting company, where our server and other related data is stored. Backups of this data are retained for the purpose of disaster recovery.
  2. We share your testimonial, with consent.
  3. In exceptional circumstances, we may share information about you with a third-party if we believe that sharing is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, or legal process or request by the government, (b) to enforce our own Terms of Service Agreement, (c) protect against illegal activities, or (d) to respond to an emergency if we believe that sharing such information will prevent death or serious bodily injury of any person.

What Is The Legal Basis for Processing Your Personal Data?

You have either given us explicit consent, or you have purchased one of our Products or Services and in order to fulfill our service to you we need to keep your contact details on record.

Special Categories of Information

DNNDev does not ask you to provide, and we do not knowingly collect, any special categories of Personal Data from you, such as Personal Data that reveals your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious, philosophical beliefs, or trade unions membership, or the processing of data concerning your health or data concerning your sex life or sexual orientation or history of criminal convictions.


Your Rights Regarding Your Information and Accessing and Correcting Your Information

Applicable data protection laws may provide you with certain rights with regards to our processing of your Personal Data.

  • Access and Update. You can review and change your Personal Data by logging into the Website and visiting the “Manage Profile” section of your “My Account” page. You may also notify us through the contact information below or through our Support Desk of any changes or errors in any Personal Data we have about you to ensure that it is complete, accurate, and as current as possible. We may also not be able to accommodate your request if we believe it would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
  • Restrictions. You have the right to restrict our processing of your Personal Data under certain circumstances. In particular, you can request we restrict our use of it if you contest its accuracy, if the processing of your Personal Data is determined to be unlawful, or if we no longer need your Personal Data for processing, but we have retained it as permitted by law.

  • Right to be Forgotten. You have the right to request that we delete all of your Personal Data. We cannot delete your Personal Data except by also deleting your user account and revoking your licenses, and we will only delete your account when we no longer have a lawful basis for processing your Personal Data or after a final determination that your Personal Data was unlawfully processed. We may not accommodate a request to erase information if we believe the deletion would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. In all other cases, we will retain your Personal Data as set forth in this policy. In addition, we cannot completely delete your Personal Data as some data may rest in previous backups. These will be retained for the periods set forth in our disaster recovery policies. We also cannot delete your User Contributions, however proper access and use of information provided on the website, including User Contributions, is governed by our Terms of Use.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable supervisory authority in the country you live in, the country you work in, or the country where you believe your rights under applicable data protection laws have been violated. However, before doing so, we request that you contact us directly in order to give us an opportunity to work directly with you to resolve any concerns about your privacy.

Data Retention

We will retain your personal data for the entire time that you keep your account open or when we have an ongoing business need to do so. After you close your account and request your information to be deleted, we may retain your Personal Data:

  • on our backup and disaster recovery systems in accordance with our backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures;

When we have no legitimate need to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymize it, or if that's not possible, such as the case with backups, we will isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

All personal information is collected via HTTPS secure communication and is kept in a secure database that is not subject to any unauthorized usage.

We have implemented measures designed to secure your Personal Data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.
