## What's New in XMod Pro 5.0 Beta 6 ### New Features - **Convert to Custom Form** — You can now convert a Form Builder form into a custom (hand-coded) form when you outgrow the visual builder. Available from the form's More Actions menu in the Forms Explorer and a new toolbar button in the Form Builder itself. A conversion dialog suggests a name for the new custom form so your original stays intact. - **Project descriptions** — Projects now support a description (up to 500 characters) with a multiline editor and live character countdown, displayed on the project page. - **Full keyboard navigation in the Projects tree** — The Projects explorer now supports treegrid keyboard navigation with proper row focus highlighting, making the Control Panel far more accessible and keyboard-friendly. - **Quick-open icons on Project Details** — The Project Details page now has Explorer-style "open all" icons so you can jump straight into a project's forms, views, and feeds. ### Fixes & Improvements - **Security: form field values no longer logged on SQL errors** — When a form's SQL command failed, submitted field values (potentially including passwords) were written in plaintext to the DNN event log. Error logging now redacts field values. - **SQL linter understands column aliases** — The editor linter now recognizes `SELECT ... AS Alias` columns as valid field tokens and performs strict SELECT-projection validation shared with autocomplete, so token warnings match what your query actually returns. - **"Template" renamed to "View" throughout the admin UI** — Remaining user-facing labels that still said "Template" now consistently say "View". - **Dashboard Recent vs. Pinned timestamps** — Recent items now show when you last *opened* them and pinned items show when they were last *modified*; restoring a session no longer falsely re-stamps those timestamps. - **Explorer tab order fixed** — Keyboard tabbing through the Explorer item list no longer skips awkwardly between the item name and its More Actions button. - **Version history pruning no longer touches the `_original` snapshot** — Pruning tried to delete the protected `_original` version on every save, logging a spurious exception each time. - **License activation polish** — The activation modal now validates each field inline as you type, and license save/load failures are surfaced to you instead of failing silently. - **Project editor shows the correct Modified date** immediately after saving. - **Removed the redundant "Toggle Reference Panel" command** from the global command palette. ### Installation Notes: Read the [Beta Release Blog](/blog/xmod-pro-5-public-beta) for beta program details, but here are the highlights: - The beta is available to current and past customers of XMod Pro - It is available on the [Downloads Page](/clients/downloads). - If you have installed the beta previously use the **Repair Install** option when installing. - This beta expires **Sept. 30th**.
