Setting Value Tag in the Edit Button Tag Using Javascript

https://www.dnndev.com/fiddle/fid/894 I have been trying 50 thousand different things to get this program to recognize the Value. I keep coming up with an error: "can't convert string to int32." (not literal) I also tried referencing the function in the value attribute. That didn't work either. I'm submitting the code from my latest attempt. HELP!!!

Edit button not shown for non-admin role

Answer Accepted

I have simple template in grid style with the edit button in each record row. The button shows up fine in Administrator log-in, but for non-admin users the button disappears. I have checked the page security and module security. Thanks in advance.
