The publishing features of DNN Enterprise rely in part on modules to implement iPortable to push those module instances and/or their content from a Staging server to a Production server.

XMOD has supported iPortable since v4 (for config info, at least).

Does XMOD Pro have iPortable support? If not, is that a feature that's on the roadmap? If it were to be supported my expectation is that form definitions, template definitions and module settings would be the only portable items (i.e., no actual data).

Hi Mamlin, Kelly's note is that, "Yes, XMod Pro implements iPortable. It currently copies over the selected template, the selected form, and the roles selected for Add Roles (on the security tab)."

So that should have you covered for that specific module instance and porting over from Staging to Live. If there are any templates/forms that are not actively used in the site that you want to have on the Live server then you can always get those over by direct folder copy/paste from the default file location.

Oh, but of course the actual XMP files would be going over with the file side of the staging to live process. Just wanted to mention that you always have the ability to watch/update/manage those manually in the portals location where the XMP tempaltes/form code is kept.

For the iPortable, it will copy the configuration data from the Configure page (specified form, specified template, permissions settings, variables).

Excellent -- Thanks, Ryan!

Looks like I'll be sending yet another customer to DNNDev's door shortly...
