Hi,
I was going through the site. I have a requirement, and want to know if I can achieve this using XMOD Pro.
I want to connect to external Oracle database, retrieve records, display it and allow users to export the results.

Please let me if this is possible, and I would buy this module.

Thanks,
Rajkumar

I am also trying to use Xmod Pro to connect to an Oracle database, but I am having issues. I have my connection string set up and I have a dropdown list binded to the datasource, but when I view it the dropdown list is empty, but there was no error. Is the product not capable of connecting to an Oracle database?

The best way to achieve this is to use a Linked Server in SQL server. Set one of these up using SQL server management console in your DNN DB and then you can query that as if it were a SQL server DB.

I just did this with an Access data source. One I had the linked server set up it worked a treat. There are providers for all major DB's.

Regarding export you cannot export from XMP. But there are other tools you can use to do this.

Just wanted to let you know that this works. It would be nice to work directly through Oracle, but I'll take this solution.
