Is there an easy way to design your XMOD forms using Visual Web Developer, then copy and paste the code to xmod? Any tips or tricks? |

I have been looking at various web editors to provide an offline rich form editing capability, the problem is that none of them will support the XMod tags. You could use VWD or others to create your fom and the layout using standard html tags but you then have to manually replace them with the required XMod tags. It would be great if someone could come up with an add-in that allows you to connect to your DNN database and also recognizes XMod tags. |

we don't make XMod, we make it better! |

I had started doing what Fatgeorge suggests. I found a html editor called NoteTab that is programmable. i.e. You can input Xmod tags into it. You can also put Xmod specific Javascript's into it. You can build templates (useful for quick html tables with built in <literal> tags). A very nice editor. I started inputing some Xmod tags and learned that I could also have tag specific help files. Kelly emailed me the Xmod help file and I broke it down into each tag. This way, on the panel that holds the Xmod tags which you drag and drop onto the editor, each tag also has it's own help file. You can also build wizards. I built one that was pretty close to the tag attributes wizard in Xmod but also included html color pickers, etc. Would like to include CSS attribute picker as well. If anyone is willing to help we might be able to make this a reality. NoteTab has a freeware version along with two paid versions - the top of the line being the Pro version @ $29.95. See it here: http://www.notetab.com Greg |

Sure, just give me a little time. I'll need to dig it up. I reinstall my OS (Acronis disk image) quite frequently and I saved the NoteTab stuff separately so I'll need to reload it. Greg |

Fatgeorge- I'll need an email address to send you the files. Three small files - all you do is throw the two library files into the library folder of NoteTab and the help file in the NoteTab program folder. Greg |

Greg, I'm very interested in what you've come up with as well. I've been using notetab for a couple years now and enjoy the simplicity and it's complexity and get very frustrated with the online form editor with XMOD, although I love the product. If you would not mind, could you send me what you sent ot fatgeorge? send to joe-sabados@comcast.net |

Sure, post an email address I can send it to. I have only gotten the <input> tag installed as a test to see if it would work. Haven't had time to do anymore. Plus I'm kind of waiting for the next version of Xmod to do anymore with it. Greg |
