I have a single DNN database with multiple portals with independent portal owners.

If these portal owners use XMOD, are their xmod data sandboxed? I mean can they use XMod to run queries against other portals' xmod data? Against DNN core tables?

What about fileuploads through xmod.. Do they go to the same folder? Can they see each others' files?

Email: as a host, I would like to force xmod users to use their own smtp settings instead of DNN's settings. Looking at xmod's documentation, the smtp settings are optional which suggest users are free to use DNN's settings. I don't feel comfortable with this. XMod administrators can create forms to email out spam and mass mailings. As a host I need to be able to control this. Ideas? I am already not happy that DNN does not force this in its core functionality. At least I want to be able to control this at the module level. DNN's smtp settings should not be available to all the portals.

Hi Abdu,

Portal data is sandboxed in XMod. All data is stored in XMod tables and restricted by portal ID.

File Uploads within the control packaged with XMod are stored in the Upload directory or a sub-directory of it for each portal.

Email doesn't have the ability to restrict SMTP settings.

Best,
Kelly
