Ask The Xperts Launched at fatgeorge.co.uk

The aim of ATX is to build up a library of solutions and answers for the DotNetNuke XMod community.

Weather your are an XMod newbie or a seasoned xpert we all need help with our developments at some point, the normal place to do this would be in the forums, they offer a wealth of knowledge and advice from XMod users old and new.

But we see the same questions being asked again and again, usually when new users join the XMod community.

Most times the question has already been answered, sometimes more than once by different people!

Are forums just too difficult to search for the answer?

Do users trust the answers they find?

If they find multiple answers to their question which is the best one to follow?

In an attempt to provide an easier way to find an answer to your XMod query fatgeorge have created Ask The Xperts; the premise is simple you have a problem or query:

You first search for questions like yours using a combination of categories, tags and the XMod search

If you find a similar question to yours you view the answers, if they have been rated they will be sorted in descending order so the top rated answers are at the top of the list.

If you like the answer you rate it and optionally add your comments

You cannot find an existing question which matches your problem

you post your question.

Xmod Community members post an answer, (you get an email to tell you your question has been answered.)

you click the link in the email to view your question and the answers

if you like an answer rate it and comment on it.

ATX is intended to complement the XMod forums, please be honest with your ratings and comments the aim is to help your fellow XMod users.

ATX is a parent/child style application created using XMod 5.1, fatgeorge Tag Cloud for navigation and filtering

, fatgeorge Form Utilities (not released yet) , fatgeorge HouseKeeper (not released yet) to maintain Parent/Child relationship between Question/Answers and uses the Rater Updater technique to allow sorting and filtering by rating.

Let There Be Lightbox!

There have been a few posts in the forums lately concerning the use of Lightbox with XMod.

I actually implemented Lightbox on one of my sites in an XMod 4.7 List View template,
I would like to try to document the process here so that others can have a go at utilising this cool way
of displaying images.More...
